MediSwitch, the leader in the transmission of electronic healthcare transactions, has announced the appointment of Andrew Brown as Managing Executive following the retirement of long-time incumbent Peter Kennedy, who will step down at the end of February 2016 after 16 years as Managing Director. Kennedy will remain at the helm of MediSwitch during the transition period until his retirement.Brown has more than 25 years’ experience in Information Technology and Enterprise Business Systems, primarily working in the utilities, manufacturing and healthcare industries, in both South Africa and the Middle East. Prior to joining MediSwitch, Brown was the Managing Director of MEDITECH South Africa where he worked for seven years. Brown has a B.Com Information Systems degree from UCT and a MBA from the Wits Business School.Commenting on the appointment, Kennedy said that Brown’s strong track record and substantial experience made him the ideal candidate for the role.“Over the past few months I have worked with Andrew and he brings a wealth of experience to MediSwitch at this important stage of its development.
