Willem Rossouw is Divisional Executive of the Strategy and Technology department of Bytes Systems Integration. Willem’s responsibilities are to oversee Technical Pre-sales, Bid Office Management; Marketing and Strategy on the future of value add technologies and solutions for Bytes SI and it’s customers. This involves integrating synergies within the Altron Group, external partners and aligning with competitors (where applicable) to extract maximum value toward revenue generation and growth of the economy.
Willem’s career started in the ICT industry with a Higher National Diploma in Computer Systems from the Vaal University of Technology in 1994. He has worked in various positions - as an ICT customer at SA Correctional Services – a first adopter of wide area networking in SA. As a Network Engineer, in the employment of Persetel QData Networks – designing and implementing technology products from Microsoft to Routing and Switching, where he also obtained his CCIE certification in 1998. Willem worked for Cisco Systems – 7 years in Europe, designing, deploying, supporting and selling all over the continent. With Cisco, he spent another 6.5 years in Africa and the Middle East as a Service Provider infrastructure consultant.
Willem joined the Altron Group in January 2012. During this period, he spent time as Network Architect for the Altech Group, as acting CIO for Altech Netstar, Technical Solutions Manager for Altron TMT and, currently, as lead for Strategy and Technology for Bytes SI.
Willem’s sentiment and approach to new revenue streams:
Key to future success is a huge mind-shift moving from box dropping to supportive systems selling. Customers’ ICT purchase decisions are mostly based on savings achievements and, secondly, on maximising revenue during a phase of low economic sentiment.
